Should there be some sort of numbered ratings by the reviewer on how 'bad' each webcomic is? It would help readers for them to know if something's worth a one time look or shouldn't be touched with a ten foot pole.

I for one, find 'boring characters, good artwork, inconsistent plot and occasional humor' on a different level to 'fetish fulfilling horribly composed story with one dimensional characters and jokes that don't make sense' and think that we should make it clear if something is bad, very bad, or should be nuked from orbit.

As much as I'd hate to say it, there are some comics reviewed by this site I actually like, and I don't imagine me being the only one, so I'm sure it would be beneficial to just make it a little more clear what's 'whatever' material and what's 'get this the fuck away from me' material.

(Preferably honest, unbiased ratings)

That's the purpose of the tags, such as A-bomb, enraging, disgusting, etc., to point out the webcomics with truly awful characteristics.

There are comics here with some merit but wind up here because of something awful about them, such as Sabrina-Online using Warner Brothers-style characters for cheesecake porn.

I thought that's what the rating summary was for. When I reviewed Spinnerette, I gave it the rating in each category that I thought it deserved. Its artwork can be good at times, which is why I gave it 3 stars overall in that department.

We have so many categories, descriptions, and rating systems that adding a numbered score to the mix seems like overkill to me, especially since we have the rating summary.

I have been toying with the idea of actually thining the herd by leaving only one or two rating systems. It's cool and all, but they are so many and it feels like they cover so little, it's almost a waste of time keeping them up.

Well if you have to change it up, I suggest using an alcohol score. It's based on how much alcohol you needed to consume to get through the comic.
Like, water would be an okay comic. Irish coffee means the comic made you bored. One beer, two beers, three beers, a six pack, and so on, these mean it needs a little to get through. Vodka and whiskey would indicate something terrible. Potent liquors like habushu, white lightning, Poitin, and the like mean the comic is a huge fucking mess. Bleach means the comic made you want to kill yourself.

I find that this is a better rating system because it's something most people can relate to and it doesn't reduce the comic's quality to a number.

The tags I find relevant on the webcomic index, to distinguish the offensive from the merely mediocre, are A-bomb, Disgusting, NSFW, Mindfuck, and Enraging.  I suggest leaving the Gone Forever tag as well, but the other tags aren't really important as far as webcomic quality goes.

I also suggest we have two NSFW tags, perhaps in different colors.  Lighter NSFW letters for the cheesecake comics and the current letters for the genuine porn.

Not necessary to make different grades of NSFW. In both cases you still get scolded; or fired for watching it during your shift. It won't make a difference whether it's kids in bikini; or a naked four-braested, centaur hermaphrodite.

what's the point in giving an x/10 score if a prerequisite of being reviewed is that your comics is already below 5 (at best)?

I have given good a good review to Ozy and Millie, to show that D. C. Simpson can produce both good and horrible comics.  I wrote a good review for Vicki Fox to prove a comic can be religious-themed without being self-righteous proselytizing, and be genuinely entertaining.

Yeah, but I moved those to another area in the site.

Don't we sort of already have scores by category anyways? I can't recall seeing a review that lacked a breakout by category of where the comic failed or succeeded.
