Hi

So: http://www.ohjoysextoy.com

It's written by Erica Moen & Matthew Nolan. They are married or something and they live in Portland, Oregon. I'm not American, but I heard that is quite the SJW town.
It's notorious because some Red Piller named Matt Forney lived there for a month, insulted everyone, then proceeded into single handedly repleneshing the salt reserves of the city (with his own tears, not the SJW), kicking the economy into overdrive. Then he traveled like a Hobo, hiking somewhere he could blog without bodychecked by a fat chick anytime he went out. "Those damn SJW, no respect, grrr".

My first feeling is that this comic is like, the blue piller's/SJW retort to the claim that Red Pillers get laid more. Please note that I hate this debate, I hate both side, I hate the purple pill, and the only pill I fucking take is the white pill called ASPIRIN because it gives me a headache. So I don't care about your stakes in this debate, whatever. I come here to bash comics.

I feel both sides try to subtly one up each other as the better side. Both sides come as suffering illusory superiority, dunning kruger... ugh. Like red pillers say they have more average partners, and Oh Joy's retort is they have better sex, and less hangups. Both sides are stupid.

Sex practices are something personal. I won't bash the practices. Whatever float your boats. That horse over there? Go get 'em tiger. Wait, you want to sniff your cute coworker tiny girly sneakers when they're away from their desk? Let me look away for a sec. Woa dad, what are you doing pegging yourself with a dildo on my childhood's teddy bear? Let me close your door and pick me up at the hospital once you're done, I'll be at the poison center so they can remove the bleach from my eyes.

This comic has people in wheelchair, people with fake legs, trans people, and pretty much anything. The only thing that's missing are animals and aliens, which I find weird, because some of us like fucking grey sexless bald humanoids, and dog/horse/goat fuckers are people too - sick, fucked up people but people nonetheless - you know.

Here are a few choice comics.
There's one I lost because of this shitty forum platform no offense (more on that below), where the guy has an artificial leg.

Finally, this last one managed to make me chuckle http://www.ohjoysextoy.com/mistakes-were-made-by-lucy-bellwood/ but it's a guest webcomic so it doesn't count.
Reminded me when my mother used to put bleach in old allergy syrup bottles, and drink it by accident when half asleep in the morning. Sadly she spit it out, and thus was allowed to continue emotionally abusing me for the next 7 years until we went to court and she got owned.

BTW admins, I just lost a fucking opening post worth of content because I misclick a link while writing it and links actually work in the textbox, and they actually open in the same tab, and pressing back doesn't save the post. My fault for not using notepad, but I'm angry as fuck still. I had to rewrite this fucking thread as a whole and lost my links. Might wanna look into that if you can so we stop losing posts by accident. Don't take my anger personally I'm just a fucked up angry at the world type of person.

That said, everyone please give your thoughts on this webcomic.

There's a show on IFC that makes fun of the town called [url= It'll give you an idea of what it's like.

I've never read the comic, but everything I've heard about it makes it sound extremely unappealing.

I feel both sides try to subtly one up each other as the better side.

"Subtly" is the exact opposite word to describe both those groups at anytime.

Like you said, what people do in the bedroom is no ones business but there own and as long as its legal, who cares. And if someone needs sex advice, than have a right to talk to the right people.
My problems is that it tries way to hard to come off as open-minded. It feels like it's showing most of these sex acts not becuase it wants to, but for shock value to show how edgy and cool they are. It just feels contrived.
And I do not know much about ads, let along porn ads, but I dont think you should throw every type of porn out there. Sometimes you get normal stuff, then gay stuff, dildos, then gay furry stuff and...wait, why the fuck is their gay furry porn, let alone furry porn, on a semi realistc web comic websites ads?  The porn ads just feels schizophrenic in tone.

Good summary though

You've got 67 hours if you want to get in on their latest Kickstarter!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/erikamoen/oh-joy-sex-toy-volume-3

Here's the previous ones.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/erikamoen/oh-joy-sex-toy-volume-2

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/erikamoen/oh-joy-sex-toy-the-book

They're almost making David Willis money!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH! How is this that popular? At least Dave Willis has had a fanbase that has been growing since the 90's, this comic came out in 20 fucking 13! That's only 3 years ago! Are hipster just loaded?

Thank you for your replies.

I think I understand Portland better now. I'll watch more of Portlandia to educate myself, like a good shitlord.

The Kickstarter links were educational. She looks better IRL than I thought she'd look like from her drawings. Her husband has Vox Day hair, ironically. That's a crapton of money though. A literal crapton. Holy shit. Who buys that? There's no story at all, it's just a book of ads in comic form.

I agree about the shock value. Didn't see it that way, but yeah, shock people and then scold them for being close minded, a common tactic, on both sides, the content is just different between them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your views on this webcomic.

Actually, if there is one thing in the review that I feel dosent need to come into play is the fact that there from Portland. Ive been to Portland, and it is actually a really nice place. Its a city, but it feels like a town, not so much hussle and bussle, and the people seem really nice. I mean, there might be some SJW, but their not thriving, as the people from Portland seem to be more "Live and let live" rather than "I know what I am talking about so listen to me!"

Its a Liberal town, but in a good way; Portland seems to be quirky in the "lets try something new and have fun with it", rather than "we have to try something new, otherwise how will we get attention from others to know how much smarter we are from them" mentallity present in most SJW places. I mean, I only spent a little time there, and I could be wrong, but it seems like a nice place, and I could see myself living there. And this is from me who usually bitches about Liberals, and I liked Portland!

I just remembered, "Learn how to peg the males in your life, smashing the patriarchy one anal rupture at a time"? That's an actual article. Can't remember if it's Jezebel, or The Mary Sue, or Everyday Feminism, but I definitely remember reading a headline like that somewhere.

There is guest comic involving gay furry threesome watersports. I got curious what else there was and...oh god what did I see?

GAY FURRY THREESOME WATERSPORTS!!!!!!!!

Welp, I got my answer as to why their is gay furry ads. Also, one of them dresses up as the monster nurses from the Silent Hill games. Not exactly like the nurses, in fact maybe not so much, but fuck. Kafka on qualuds coud'nt come up with something more demented than that scenerio.

Also, the male character keeps on metioning his average sized penis more than once. Glad he is not bragging about it, but there is something so self-defeating and pitiable everytime he mentions it, like he is almost talking down about how normal and boring his dick size is.

Pretty sure its an SJW comic. Goodspead for whoever does this.

I see. As I mentioned, I am not American, so...
What I gathered from Portlandia pretty much match up with what you said. Quirky, in a good way, kinda weird?
The only thing I knew of it was Matt Forney left while crying, and that there was apparently lots of SJW.

But I wasn't sure because I've never been. So, I mentioned that they were from Portland, maybe it had something to do with it. If you say it doesn't, I'll trust your judgement on that. Thanks for the explanation.

YES I saw that one a while ago. http://www.ohjoysextoy.com/watersports/

There's also this one I found while searching for the furry one: http://www.ohjoysextoy.com/uti/

She's sliding down a river of piss - your average day at the water park.

I like your sense of humor.

I don't think the mods can do anything about the platform, since they don't own yuku. You'll just have to join the yuku hate train. Welcome aboard *choo choo*

The comic is pretentious. I like the sex positivity and the "fetishes are okay as long as everyone involved consents" part in theory. But in practice they manage to make me hate my own fetishes that they covered. Or any stuff I thought of trying but they went pretentious on it.

Basically it screams pretentious SJW bullshit. Even the edgy haircuts.

p.s. Not sure if I mentioned pretentious yet?

I remembered this a while a go from Dave Willis (Shortpacked, Dumbing of Age, retard)

http://www.shortpacked.com/index.php?id=2086

I didnt get the color scheme, and I don't think most people did, but I'm pretty sure this comic is its inpiration.(And just like in true Willis fasion, its supposed to be a spoof, but comes of as a negative parody, but is accidentaly a satire of Willis's worldview.) Say what you want about Oh Joy Sex Toy, but at least it hardly ever comes across as negative or condesnscending to its viewer. Dave Wilis is just venom and treats his whole readership as uninformed idiots. And the realy kicker? People were just confused by why the vibrator looked like that, as Willis does not know what a traditional vibrator looks like. Admittidley, I don't know what a vibrator looks like either, but Willis could of listened to what his viewers were saying and, I dont know, learn to draw one. But nope, everyone else is wrong and Willis is right. He dont need to change anything, as he is Dave "pornlord"(actual fucking title he gives himself) Willis! You know, in Oh Joy Sex Toy, Ive seen a lot of close up of vaginas, including details of what it looks like on the inside. But Ive seen Dave Willis do drawings of himself, so it would be weird to be offended by Oh Joy Sex Toy, as Ive seen bigger cunts.

Oh the Dumbing of Age review on the wiki is exactly what made me think about this comic. It was in my original OP, but I lost it.

Willis is a weird person. His porn sucks.

It's been ages since I chuckled at Dumbing of Age. I chuckled a fair bit at the first comics, but nowadays there's no corny one lines like the scissoring chick. http://www.dumbingofage.com/comics/2011-05-10-legitimate.png

I don't know much about him otherwise. I've seen the reviews, and he seems weird.

I remembered the vibrator thing, and I don't really have any opinion on it. That little thing, we could deduce that it could be for either the asshole, could be for the clit, hell, could be to pick your nose while you suck it, who cares.

Just tell people that's for the clit, not everyone knows every dildo model and its features. Some of use like fucking sponges in a pringle tube.

It's a sex education comic, so i don't see why it would deserve a review.

I thought it was weird too that they got FURRIES to explain this.

It's sex education that tries to be entertaining (and possibly 'sexy'), a review is warranted if it fails on those counts. And while I'd say it doesn't make me want to swear off sex forever like some of the more extreme comics we cover, it is pretty definitively going to prevent any desire for sex after reading a strip.

Fuck, that's how you should do sex education. Make it as unerotic and unappealing as possible so that teens think twice about getting teen pregnant.

The family guy scene where Stevie looks at a hustler magazine would be appropriate here.
