Albert Temple, author of webcomic "Gene Catlow", has just died of natural causes.

His webcomic Gene Catlow was made of Mary Sue and thinly veiled excuses for the guy to draw almost-porn of him and his friends fucking all kinds of things. I'm surprised there's no entry of his comic on the wiki.

But ok, he was 59 - that's old in a lot of ways, though not that old.

I admit I never followed his webcomic because it was too confusing and complicated for me.

Oh its quite simple: Gene Catlow and his friends are the good guys - always, no matter what

Anyone else is either a friend waiting to happen, or a villain - or a villain who is later redeemed into a friend

oh and gene and friends all have orgies on a surprisingly regular basis, at least later on in the comic when they hook up with the gods of having sex. I wish I was kidding.

Also Albert had a side-comic called Kit & Kay Boodle, which is just straight up a porn comic - in the same universe as the Gene Catlow comic. And ofc the Gene Catlow crew makes appearances in that one more than once. In the city of "Yiffburg", where everyone eats the natural contraceptive/sexually stimulating "boinkberries".

on the flip side, then you gotta give Albert props - he ran his Gene Catlow comic for some 16 years. That's no small feat.

Well, you can still write a review of "Gene Catlow" yourself if you wish.  I did notice that people praised Temple himself, but his webcomic did not get a lot of praise (other than the fact that he did update it regularly).

If I have time I'll have a poke - its a low priority, especially now that it wont be updating again.

It wouldn't be appropriate to put up a critical review too soon after the author's death anyway.

I dunno - I recall bitching about the comic here a good while ago. Like I said: I'm a little surprised that there isn't an entry for the comic in the wiki already - or at the least the porn comic spinoff, which is even more attrocious

I mean, this is a furry comic we're talking about - nothing of value was lost

Not every furry comic is bad, especially if it establishes an "animal" world with specific rules for that world like Forest Hill does.  And there are good family entertainment ones like Vicki Fox, which also has humans.

If by porn comic spinoff you're talking about Kit 'n' Kay Boodle, we definitely gave that one a good panning.  That is awful by any stretch of the imagination.  (NOTE: Despite the almost identical character styles, Albert Temple and Richard Katellis are not the same person.  So Kit 'n' Kay Boodle is not actually a spinoff, even if Gene Catlow did appear in that webcomic.)
